Forest Community Transport is the rural bus routes provided by Lydney Dial-A-Ride. It is a not-for-profit organisation that will run public transport services at a lower cost replacing subsidised bus services 705, 707, 708 and 709.

The routes enable rural communities to access local amenities by use of a public bus service. The buses also allow passengers with concessionary bus passes to use them on these routes.

The routes not only help to connect communities around the Forest, but also provide the opportunity to travel further by linking into onward connecting bus services such as to Gloucester & Monmouth.
Use Forest Community Transport like an ordinary bus service and turn up at the relevant bus stop as shown in the timetables.

Where you see the telephone symbol in the timetables next to a timing point, you need to book your journey in order to travel. You can do this by calling Forest Community Transport on 01594 843809 on the previous working day before you wish to travel.

When you book your journey, please specify the day you require, a pick up or drop off point and your travel destination. The booking lines are open Monday to Friday between 8.30am - 4.30pm. To save calling, you can also inform your Forest Community Transport driver when you next wish to travel.

WE NEED YOU!

Do you travel to Chepstow for your Tesco shop with Will? Does Kevin pop you down into town so you can collect your prescription or meet friends for lunch? Get your groceries and then head home with Roger? Or does Barbara bring you home after a long day in the office? If you need our Forest Community Transport routes, then we need you!

Gloucestershire County Council are undertaking a Funded Public Transport Survey to understand views on current public transport and how the money invested in it could be better used. Views you give in the survey will be used to help shape the future of public transport, and this includes our Forest Community Transport routes.

If you use the routes regularly, enjoy travelling with us and would hate to see the services dissapear, we need you to give your honest views and opinions on them by taking part in the survey. It is also interested in your views on other public transport around Gloucestershire too, so make sure you take part! All our drivers also have paper copies, so if you prefer to hand write them, just ask when you get on! You can either post them off or hand them back to us and we will send them in for you! Either way .. make your opinion heard!
