Our Voluntary Car Scheme.
We have a small but dedicated group of voluntary car drivers who use their own vehicles to take people to their medical appointments.
They will take you to your doctor’s surgery, Gloucester Royal, Cheltenham General or further afield. They help you navigate the hospital corridors and make sure you find the correct department. Then they will wait to take you home. We do not charge for waiting.
There is a small mileage charge to cover their expenses and you do need to be a member of Dial-a-Ride. The volunteer car service is available for medical appointments and visiting relatives, both within and outside of the county. We have a number of cars available, charged on a per mile basis. Our current voluntary drivers charge 50p per mile.
